Post-doc position in Jin Lab, School of Life Sciences, Westlake University

Category: Postdoctoral Fellow

Department: SLS

Location: Yunqi, Hangzhou, CN

Employment Type: Full-time

Introduction of The Lab/ Research Field

The Jin Lab integrates multidisciplinary approaches to interrogate the molecular underpinnings of metastatic cancer and strives to find therapeutic targets for tackling this deadly disease. We are establishing a next-generation cancer research framework that combines high-throughput technologies and in vivo models that are more physiologically recapitulative of patient settings, unleashing their power for large-scale metastasis mechanism exploration. We incorporate perturbational, single cell, and spatial genomics tools to chart tumor evolution and therapeutic response in space and time, identifying unmarked oncotargets with selectivity and therapeutic index. We utilize machine learning and bioinformatic approaches for biomarker and resistance mechanism discovery. Through these efforts we aim to make impactful findings that are translatable to precision medicine for metastatic cancer. For details, please visit:

Job Description

Position: Postdoctoral Fellow (1-2)

The Jin Lab at Westlake University is looking for exceptional candidates to join the research effort to delineate in vivo cancer dependencies and discover novel therapeutic targets. The candidates will drive the development of novel functional genomics approaches including high-throughput in vivo assays, CRISPR gene perturbation/control tools, and cell phenotyping technologies. He/she will combine these approaches with computational biology to conduct large-scale cancer research and develop mechanistic insights. The candidates are expected to lead the research and work independently on a daily basis, and will receive solid scientific training mentored by the principal investigator of the group. He/she will have the opportunity to widen their vision about cancer research through interacting with multiple top laboratories around the world. Westlake University provides a vibrant research environment with close links to top academic institutions across China and provides the potential for individuals’ contributions to be used and recognized worldwide.

Requirements:

The projects adopt interdisciplinary approaches and are suitable for candidates from diverse experimental and computational biology disciplines.
