1.  Introduction about the Lab

Natural products have been the major source of antibiotics. As we enter the era of antibiotic resistance crisis, there is a keen need for discovery of new antibiotics. How much do new drugs remain to be discovered from nature?  How can we create new “unnatural” natural products? Our lab applies evolutionary perspective to understand the diversity of natural products and their biosynthesis, and aims to accelerate natural product evolution by synthetic biology.

1)  Position

Assistant Researcher (non-tenured research track, 1 vacancy)

2) Job Responsibilities

Conducting projects around the lab's research directions and assisting in mentoring students.

3) Job Requirements

- Having Ph.D. degree and at least one year of research job experience (including postdoc)

- Strong ability to carry out independent research work.

- We will prioritize those who has experience in bioinformatics analysis and tool development.

3. Compensation and Benefits

The research team offers an internationally competitive compensation package commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience basing the relevant regulations of Westlake University.
