Department Overview: The Office of Laboratories and Research Equipment is one of the management and service Departments of Westlake University. It is established to be responsible of the laboratory safety, major research equipment, research equipment shared service and running service of research facilities.

The Office of Laboratories and Research Equipment is now recruiting the supervisor role for biosafety management. Please see below for details.

Position: Laboratory Safety Supervisor--Biosafety

Number of recruits：1

Job Responsibilities:

1. Conscientiously implement the management regulations related to laboratory safety by the state, local governments, and the University.

2. Be responsible for Laboratory biosafety management:

1) Be responsible for managing the whole lifecycle of laboratory hazard biological factors, from procurement approval, storage, usage to disposal.

2) Establish the standardized management system for BSL laboratories, certificate registration and daily operation supervision.

3) Be in charge of BSL laboratories access approval training and certificate management, improve the Lab Biosafety Training courses.

4) Manage the risk assessment for all biological experimental projects, get the project implemented safely.

5) Guard the contingency handling for lab biosafety accident.

3. Be participant in other lab safety management activities, such as safety inspection, emergency drill, etc.

4. Complete other tasks assigned by the uplevel superiors.

Qualifications:

1. Embracing the philosophy, mission, vision, and value of Westlake University. Hardworking with strong sense of responsibility. Good teamwork skills and sense of service.

2. Master’s degree or above. Major in biology, medical science or virology, biosafety work experience is preferred.

3. Good communication and coordination skills. Familiar with relevant national and local laws and regulations.
