Biography

Dr. Shuigang Xu received his B.S. degree from Wuhan University in 2009, and Ph.D. degree from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2013. He worked as a postdoc in the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology from 2013 to 2016 and in University of Manchester from 2016 to 2020 supervised by Nobel Laureate Andre Geim. He will join School of Science in 2021.

 

Research

My research interests are focused on:

1.    Novel quantum transport in two-dimensional materials and van der Waals heterostructures

2.    Engineering van der Waals heterostructures for exotic properties and high functionality

3.    Electron correlations and topology in twisted graphene

4.    Growth, electronic and optoelectronic properties, and applications of low-dimensional materials.
