79th Westlake Master Forum | Hai Qi:Regulation of Humoral Immunity: from Cellular Dynamics to Neural Circuits and Behaviors

Time:10:40-11:40 AM, Monday, Sep 7, 2020

Venue: Lecture Hall, 1F, Building 5, Yunqi Campus

Host: Heping Xu, PI of School of Life Sciences, Westlake University

Speaker: Hai Qi, Ph.D., Professor of School of Medicine, Tsinghua University; HHMI International Research Scholar

Dr. Hai Qi received his Bachelor of Medicine from the Beijing Medical University in 1996 and Ph.D. in Pathology from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 2003. After postdoctoral training at NIH with Dr. Ronald Germain, he joined the faculty of Tsinghua University in 2009, where he is currently a Professor in Immunology. The main focus of his research is on follicular helper T-cell and germinal center biology, and he has made important contributions to our understanding of how antigen-specific and bystander interactions between T and B cells are molecularly regulated, how cellular dynamics supporting the germinal center is organized, and how properties of T-B interactions influence cell fate decisions during the germinal center reaction. He has been recognized by numerous awards, including most recently an AAI-BD Investigator Award. He is also an HHMI International Research Scholar.
