Title:
Terahertz technology and quantum functional materials
Abstract:
Future quantum chips require new quantum materials having the potential to be integrated with multi-quantum functions. Therefore, finding effective ways of coexistence and inter-coupling of multi- order parameters reaching to the room temperature is a trend of developing such materials. Terahertz (THz) wave has been found closely related to the quasi-particle behaviors and the related properties of the key materials, so that it will be crucial to have the related characterization techniques ready for the move. Unfortunately, a full use of the advantage of the terahertz wave uniqueness has still been limited by lack of efficient terahertz generation and detection, active components, and effective characterization methods. This talk will provide an overview of such challenges and recent progresses in the areas, and will also highlight the work of our team over the past years along this broad direction.
