The First Meeting of the Second Term of the Westlake University Board of Trustees took place on April 17, with participants in Beijing and Hangzhou, due to the pandemic. Attending the meeting were 23 trustees as well as the board of supervisors, honorary trustees, and the secretary of the board.

The members elected Yingyi Qian as chair and Yinglin Qin as vice chair of the second term of the board of trustees. Qian also delivered a speech.

The meeting deliberated and approved the proposal to amend the Westlake University Charter, the proposal on the composition of the board committees, as well as the university’s 2021 financial report, 2021 annual auditor’s report, 2022 annual budget report, 2021 annual work report, 2022 annual work plan, and undergraduate enrollment plan. The meeting also discussed topics such as undergraduate education, the construction and planning of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and the Research Center for Industries of the Future, and the Westlake Fellows Program.
